The association Primum Bobal has recently been presented to vine growers, oenologists, journalists and sommeliers at the Technological Institute of Viticulture and Oenology of Requena. Seven wineries make up this association: Chozas Carrascal, Dagón, Finca Ardal, Pagos del Molino, Criadores Artesanos, Vera de Estenas and Dominio de la Vega itself). These wineries have joined together in a new project with the aim to develop the varietal Bobal, a unique grape that grows nowhere else in the world.

In order to achieve their objectives, the Association will collaborate with the Polytechnic University of Valencia, the University of Valladolid, the Valencian Institute for Agriculture Research (IVIA) and the Technological Institute of Viticulture and Oenology of Requena, and is supported by the Office of Agriculture, Fish and Food of Valencia region.

Amont these objectives, they will also spread the benefits of a moderate consumption of Bobal wine, reinforce and promote the brand «Primum Bobal» in the international market, and develop the local tourism, based on its climate, history, culture, gastronomy and good connection via high speed train (AVE).
